Local Priorities

Local youth from nearby schools being a nuisance outside the retail parade in SUMMERTOWN on BANBURY ROAD, OXFORD generally after school. Behaviours include swearing, shouting, theft from nearby retail stores.

Issued: 7 May 2026

Status Update

Since the return of the schools we have seen a continued decline in behaviours though are aware of youth related anti-social behaviour in the surrounding area. This priority will therefore continue. To date we have begun work to identify those responsible for the ASB, through targeted patrols of the locality, engagement with affected parties and locations and suspects, and engagement with the school. There is due to be a series of assemblies at the nearby school to educate children on what ASB is, its impact and the law. This will remain a priority for us to masure the impact of our plans for the next few weeks.

Actioned: 7 May 2026

We have received reports of, and seen a great increase in, moped and motorbike thefts across Oxford, with North Oxford being one of the worst hit areas. The vehicles taken are believed to be being ridden dangerously locally. This is affecting a number of moped/motorbike owners as well as the wider locality

Issued: 7 May 2026

Status Update

This month will see the launch of a dedicated operation to tackle the issue, identify protagonists as well as to engage parents, local residents and wider policing partners to ensure local safety, target hardening and ongoing reduction. Offences and offenders will be dealt with accordingly. progress will be updated via this website

Actioned: 7 May 2026

The community has previously raised concerns about cyclists running red lights and ebikes as part of a city wide concern

Issued: 9 Apr 2026

Status Update

In the past month, we have issued a number of fixed penalty notices to cyclists as well as on the spot engagement and education. We are not hearing as much about this as we have in recent months, but given the obvious safety issues associated with this, this will remain an area of focus for us for this month
